Campbell sibs will remember having “Cheese Bunnies” every Sunday night. The etymology of the name “Cheese Bunny” is a bit complicated—suffice it to say that Mom grabbed a catchy name and completely ignored the recipe that went along with it. These are quick faves when you have a whole batch of kids—just follow Alison’s broiler advice if you don’t want to burn up a whole loaf of bread without feeding any hungry children.
Fill a broiler pan or cookie sheet with single slices of bread. Cover each slice with cheese and cook under the broiler. (I like the cheese bunnies with a slice of lunchmeat under the cheese, but the kids don’t.)
