Japanese Style Sticky Rice

Marie also freezes this in meal-sized portions and thaws just before dinner.

· Measure rice in the pot you are going to cook the rice in

· Wash the rice changing water several times- quickly so the rice won’t soak up the dirty water

· Drain water

· Measure water (one and a half cups more than the rice) and pour it in

· Let stand for at least thirty minutes

· Cook on high with a lid till it boils

· Turn it down to low

· Turn the heat off after fifteen minutes

· Let stand for ten minutes before opening the lid to let the rice soak up the remaining water and settle
